Walter van Gerven Lectures
Each year, the Centre for a Common Law of Europe of the University of Leuven invites a prominent European scholar to deliver the "Walter van Gerven Lecture". The invitees share perceptions and ideas about the emergence of a "common law of Europe". Their discourse usually relates to one of the areas of interest which have been explored by Professor van Gerven in the course of his outstanding academic career. The Lectures wish to contribute to his leitmotiv that a "common law of Europe" is already present, but that we should continuously engage in uncovering and thereby nurturing it.
