Abstract:
Patents in Europe are supposed to be granted only for "technical" inventions, by tradition. This requirement is particularly important for "software patents". But its application is problematic. My research develops a new "vertical" concept of technology, better related to economic needs than the present "horizontal" concept of technology, and therefore open to "teleological" interpretation and likely to improve legal security.
