Abstract:
Can IP protect TK? This is an issue which has been vehemently debated at international level. Taiwan is now also introducing its own TK proetction regime. This research is an attempt to explore the potential and limit of a specific type of IP, namely, geographical indications as a policy tool for the the protection of traditional knowledge. It is the hope of the present researcher that this research will contribute to the protection of TK in general and provide Taiwan\'s policy maker with concrete and constructive policy recommendations.
