The effectiveness of (non-)infringement procedures in the EU and other international organizations.

Abstract:
The research focus is on the EU (non-) infringement procedures (Art. 226 EC and existing alternatives, such as peer review or mutual surveillance). A comparative study will be done into similar techniques in other international organizations (such as the WTO, IMF, OECD) to investigate under which conditions the alternatives can be as effective as or more effective than the official infringement procedures.
