Abstract:
Systemically important financial institutions are firms that could drag the entire financial system with them if they fail or malfunction. Joeri De Smet critically compares and evaluates the way EU and US law regulates such institutions, developing a new framework that is more apt at dampening systemic risk while accounting for sectoral uniformities and differences.
