The role of shareholders in corporate sustainability

Abstract:
The PhD research will investigate the current and potential role of shareholders of publicly listed companies in relation to corporate sustainability (or, ESG matters). More specifically, the research question could take the following form: What should be the rights and obligations of shareholders of publicly listed companies with respect to corporate sustainability vis-à-vis the board of directors on the basis of corporate law? The exact methodology has yet to be determined.
