The aim of my research is to provide an economic explanation for the key features of property law as a distinct field of law. I intend to explain the principal features of what may be considered the property law system, in particular those common to continental European jurisdictions. Traditionally, the economic analysis of property law is about explaining the existence of property rights, a loose category. Explaining property law, however, requires a more tailored economic analysis.
