Abstract:
The Nature Restoration Regulation, directly applicable in all European member states since 18 August, aims to ensure the long-term and sustained recovery of biodiverse and resilient ecosystems. To achieve this objective, it introduces quantified targets and deadlines for taking nature restoration measures as well as new obligations for ecosystems, areas and species. The PhD research focuses on the national (Dutch) public law instruments to achieve the nature restoration goals in the Nature Restoration Regulation, in conjunction with existing nature goals, in particular in the Habitats Directive.
