Abstract:
Legal aspects of the freshwater transition in the South-Western Delta Drought and reduced river flows are putting increasing pressure on the freshwater supply. This issue is particularly urgent in the South-Western Delta. A shortage of freshwater has significant consequences for the drinking water supply, agriculture, navigation, nature, and infrastructure. This research focuses on the legal aspects of innovations, such as water reuse and infiltration, that aim to increase freshwater availability, as well as the concept of a water bank. The PhD research is part of the NWO-KIC project STURDI-Water: Storage, Upgrading, Reuse, and Distribution of Water in Regional Collaborative Networks. The consortium includes various stakeholders from the business community, investment organizations, and knowledge institutions.
