For the eighth time the Centre for Risk and Insurance
Studies of the K.U.Leuven (CRIS) and the Centre de recherché en
droit privé of the l’UCLouvain (CPRI) organise a
conference on International European Insurance Law.
Ever since the advent of the European Insurance Directives, the quest
has been for a system of private insurance contract law that is adapted
to the size and structure of the integrated market.
The colloquium examines the policy practice of international B2B
relationships and analyses the EU Regulations and Directives on
conflicts of law and of jurisdiction. The merits of harmonisation
efforts and the technique of an Optional Instrument will be subject of
discussion.
Venue: Prestigious location of the House of the
Members of Parliament (
Maison des Parlementaires),
which is situated at the backside of the Belgian Federal Parliament but
is only accessible via Leuvenseweg 21, 1000 Brussels (for wheelchair
users via Leuvenseweg 7).

Train: 10 minutes walking from the Brussels-Central Station.

The price includes, besides the lunch, coffee and the closing
reception, the full proceedings of the colloquium, which will be
published as a book (Maklu-Publishers) and sent to the participants
after the colloquium.
