Abstract:
Class actions have emerged to protect the interests of groups of injured people in an efficient and effective way in cases of mass damage. Class actions cost considerable time and money. Because of this interest groups acting on behalf of injured people increasingly use external financing. This may be disadvantageous, for example be-cause injured parties may have less control over important trial decisions. I investi-gate third party financing of mass claims from a dogmatic, comparative and empiri-cal perspective. The objective is to contribute to the development of financing of class actions.
